So how do my truck camper brethren store their campers? Do you just leave them on the 4 jacks? How I have it in the driveway now but seems a bit sketchy. Guy suggested I build a table to set the camper on and have the 4 jacks just snug enough to also help hold the load. I was thinking maybe 4 saw horses??

Buddy of mine built a roller cart that he could set it on and move it around without putting on the truck.

Bob,

I just use 2 sturdy saw horses with the camper jacks supplementing the stability

Checked out a bunch of saw horses at Home Depot. Decided to go cinder block 2x6 route. 4000lb camper

The lower to the gound it is the more stable it is.....you also want to have the front higher then the back......

Why front higher than back?? I think I read that somewhere else too but don't remember why? So you don't use any support but camper jacks Stacey?

The front overhang is pretty heavy, you don't want it to tip, as long as you keep it "nose up" you can actually sleep up there.
No support, that picture is my camper in my backyard. Look at the camper dealers, all campers ore on the jacks and as close to the ground as possible. Mine is rock solid sitting like that.

Bob you gonna store on the driveway or on a pad next to the driveway? How steep? CM way makes sense. Lowers the center of gravity. Of course if yours has electric jacks.

Probably keep at the shop, we have a nice big fenced off and paved yard. If I leave it like Stacey's I feel like a strong wind would knock it over, but I agree that's jow they store em at the dealers. If it's only on the jacks I can put a hand on it and rock it. In my driveway for now on cinder blocks and 2x6's. Dropped on the cinder blocks, then lowered each jack until they were snug. Solid as hell now...

Believe me, the wind is not knocking it over. We have crazy fierce wind here and it is fine. Been doing this for 15 years :D

Won't the horses get restless and wander away though?

Bob and Mike,

Those are the exact ones I use. Using these two sawhorses I don't have to lower the camper down as Stacey does. When these are under the floor and the camper jacks are kissing the ground........ it's as stable as a rock.
