Have this Ice maker and would like to use in the dez running of an inverter

http://www.icemachinesplus.com/downloads/specification_sheets/ul_bi95s.pdf

Looks like it runs 2.5 amps most of the time with a possibility of 18 amps at start-up. I have extra batts I can throw in the back of the truck to power it.

What would be a good inverter and size to accomplish this? Thanks

Course when gary is out there I just plug into his power grid :boob:

at least a 1500watt inverter to handle the 18amp startup.

http://www.batteryweb.com/pdf/inverter_battery_sizing_faq.pdf

You'll be running the honda 2000 most of the afternoon and evening, switch over to inverter over night and while riding... you should be fine.

How many batteries do you have in your rig now? 2x12v or 4x12v?

I Concur

start up is the killer. you could probably run it off a 800 if it wasnt for the deep draw at Startup.

One way to find out is to Give it a run Try it at home in the Garage see if how many hours it will operate on different quantities of batteries

Thankyou, I'll hit him up. Would much rather have an inverter/charger but the damn things are expensive for a good one :vib:

I ran my ice maker on the inverter for 16 hours w/ six 6 volt Trojans. They still had a good charge left.
I have a 3000 watt pure sine inverter.

The plan is coming together :buford:

2- 210w solar pannels
1- go power 2000 sinewave inverter with remote control pannel and blue sea
300 amp fuse.

4- 100ah agm's already wired up.

Next up is a 30 amp charge controller from rouge, then its go time :vib:

You obviously have not experienced Mark's insatiable thirst for properly chilled adult refreshments and the absolute horror when there are no cubes. I liken it to crack, that man can go through some serious ice.

Besides, this is just another good reason to camp next door to him.
I've got the roller skates.... :jel:

10 of us tried to outdrink that little gem in Utah. Nothing doing, it just made more. Came in handy when your making 10 bloody marys at a wack :vik:

Course tv, couple mins with the micro to warm things up and so on without having to start a genny will be an nice side benefit.
