SAVING THE MOJAVE FRINGE-TOED LIZARD By Closing Dumont Dunes

Any recent news from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and BLM?

havent seen anything from the BLM on this yet. I'm assuming since the survey proposal was last June, it will take quite a while before the conclusions are compiled. Also, this survey is a validity of petition. Basically, BLM will use it as defense against the enviro's. Read the wording, it's pro-riding.

What prompted me to look was a radio commercial from "Gesila Earth"... (what ever that is) I heard yesterday. A soft spoken lady describes that the Mohave Fringe Toed Lizard is endangered solely because of off road vehicle riding "illegally" in the sand dunes. In the background noise, you hear ATV and sand rail motors accelerating.

Apparently it was the Center for Biological Diversity that filed the petition :bs:

It's interesting that the Mojave desert is over 10,000 square miles and Dumont occupies less than 16 square miles.
